something about me...

I am a studio and environmental installation artist in Boston & Wellfleet, Massachusetts, with works in collections throughout the United States and worldwide.

Currently I am a member of (and represented by) the Kingston Gallery, Boston, MA; and represented by Hutson Gallery, Provincetown, MA.

With strong interests in light and reflection studies, I have successfully tested and documented my capacity to introduce reflective elements into already highly lit, reflective, and colorful natural environments to create original, organically intriguing installation pieces.  Documentation of some of these pieces, are posted on this site... one piece is posted on the homepage.

The piece mounted at LeCount’s Hollow Beach (July 26, 2010, Maguire Landing, Wellfleet, MA) on the Cook’s Camp Dune involved 150+ feet of 18 inch wide aluminum foil installed into the side of the dune vertically from the top to the beach.  With utmost respect for the fragility of the outer cape’s dunes, I carefully guided and placed the material in the sand. Juxataposed several feet away from, and alongside a “dune ladder” intended for human traffic, the foil not only reflected light, color, and elements of the shore (including sky, sea, sand, foliage, birds & animals), but discouraged traffic while attracting much attention. Most observers’ initial confused and protective reactions gave way to eventual responses of curiosity, support & admiration.  Please refer to the accompanying photographs of the project. One youngster created a “miniature” re-creation of the scene in the sand (see photos in “Installations” album.) More photo and video documentary of this and previous projects, as well as access to press releases and interview, is available, please contact me through email. Another summer installation in Drummer Cove, So. Wellfleet (August 3 - 8, 2010) is also documented here (see “Installations” on the “art” link of this website.)

Please come see my work November 2 - 27, 2011 at the Kingston Gallery.
